Day 1

Arrival – Accra

Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, a representative from Blastours will meet couple for transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day free at the beach resort.

Spend the night at a Beach Resort in Accra.

Day 2

Accra – Akosombo

Start the day with an Accra City tour to include the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, National Museum and the Dubois Centre. Continue trip to the Akosombo area.

Spend the night at a Riverfront Resort

Day 3

Akosombo

Spend the morning free at the resort with a scenic environment, swimming pool, lovely restaurant, billiard table, bicycles, etc. Get spoilt at a health Spa.

Day 4

Akosombo – Elmina

Enjoy a romantic breakfast on a boat ride along the Volta river. Followed by a visit to the Akosombo for a guided tour of the man-made dam. Depart for Central Region, where we spend the rest of the day free at a beach resort.

Day 5

Elmina

Visit the Cape Coast Castle, a fortress that was built by the Swedes in 1653, seized by the Danes and later conquered by the British. Also visit the Elmina Castle built in 1482 by the Portuguese They are the best-preserved castles in Ghana and declared as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Both castles are located in thriving fishing ports where hundreds of huge wooden fishing canoes are anchored.

Day 6

Elmina – Accra

Visit the Kakum National Park comprising of undisturbed virgin rainforest for a walking tour on the canopy walkway, also the longest and highest of its kind in the West Africa. The forest provides an opportunity to see much of Ghana’s indigenous plant life, as well as rare butterflies, birds and other forms of wildlife.

We stop over at Hans Botel, a resort partly built on stilts on a river with crocodiles, lots of bird life and monkeys.

Return to Accra in the late afternoon.

Day 7

Accra

Free day with an option for last minute shopping at the Arts Centre for National Culture, the Makola market and to experience the hussle and bussle of a typical Ghanaian market.

Also explore the Osu Oxford Street before an airport transfer.
