  • Akwasidae 2022

    It is celebrated by the Ashanti people, and Chiefs in Ashanti, as well as Ashanti diaspora. The festival is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks. The celebration marks the seasons and the timing for various agricultural activities. The significance of the festival is for the commemoration of ancestors.

  • Homowo Festival 2022

      Homowo is a harvest festival celebrated by the Ga people of Ghana in the Greater Accra Region. The festival starts in the month of August with the planting of crops (mainly maize and yam) before the rainy season starts. During the festival, they perform a dance called Kpanlogo.
