THE INAUGURAL GENERAL IGNATIUS KUTU ACHEAMPONG PUBLIC LECTURES
Ghana’s history and leadership journey take center stage this November as the Kutu Acheampong Foundation hosts the Inaugural General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong Public Lectures. This thought-provoking event, scheduled for Tuesday, 25th November 2025 at 5:00 pm, will be held at the Conference Hall of ISSER, University of Ghana, Legon.
The lecture explores the theme “Legacy, Leadership & National Development: Rethinking Ghana’s Journey Through the Vision of General I. K. Acheampong.” It offers a deep reflection on national development, governance, and the historical footprints of one of Ghana’s most impactful leaders.
The keynote topic, “Abrewa and Ancestors Will Absolve Me,” promises an insightful analysis of General Acheampong’s leadership through the lenses of public memory and Ghanaian historiography. The distinguished speaker for the evening is Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area and President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs—renowned for his intellectual depth and cultural advocacy.
The session will be chaired by Prof. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, a consultant and respected professor of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care.
This event is a must-attend for students, historians, policymakers, and anyone passionate about Ghana’s political evolution and leadership legacy. It’s an opportunity to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful national dialogue.
