International Healthcare Leaders Gather in Accra

Accra is set to welcome healthcare professionals, medical experts and international partners for G4 Alliance Ghana 2026, taking place from 5 to 11 November 2026.

The gathering will bring together members of the G4 Alliance for a week of meetings, discussions and activities, including a two-day conference focused on improving surgical, obstetric, trauma and anaesthesia care in Ghana and across Africa.

Hosted in Accra, the event provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals and organisations to share knowledge, discuss challenges and explore ways to strengthen healthcare systems.

What Is G4 Alliance Ghana 2026 About?

The G4 Alliance is focused on improving access to safe, timely and affordable surgical care around the world.

The Ghana 2026 programme will place particular attention on national healthcare planning, professional training and improving patient care. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to discuss how countries can strengthen their surgical and emergency care services.

What to Expect During the Week

The programme includes several activities throughout the week, leading up to the main conference on 9 and 10 November.

Some of the scheduled activities include:

• 5 November: Prehospital Trauma Skills and Leadership Course and board meeting.
• 6 November: G4 Alliance internal meetings.
• 7 November: Global Mercy visit in collaboration with Mercy Ships.
• 8 November: Free day with optional sightseeing opportunities.
• 9 November: Main conference day.
• 10 November: Second day of the main conference.
• 11 November: Optional Smile Train visit to Kumasi.

The programme brings together professional meetings, training opportunities and visits connected to healthcare work in Ghana.

Conference Venue

The main event will be based at Alisa Hotel in Accra. Some activities during the week will take place at other locations, including the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

For international visitors attending the gathering, the week also offers an opportunity to experience Accra and learn more about Ghana beyond the conference.
