From the moment you land in Accra, you’ll be welcomed like family. Walk the lively streets of Jamestown with its stories etched into every wall, feel the pride of standing where Ghana’s independence was declared, and let the rhythms of a live band carry you into the night.
In the Ashanti Region, you’ll meet master kente weavers, try your hand at batik, and hear centuries-old tales in royal palaces. You’ll walk in the footsteps of ancestors at Assin Manso, cross the rainforest canopy at Kakum, and share in the energy of coastal drum and dance at sunset.
Your days will be filled with connection—through history, creativity, food, and music—so that when you leave, you won’t just have memories of Ghana… you’ll carry a piece of it with you
Day 1
Arrival - Accra
On arrival, the guests will be met by a local representative for a transfer to the hotel.
In the evening, group will have a welcome dinner and orientation at a beachfront resort.

Day 2
Accra
Experience a walking tour of Jamestown, the ‘original Accra’ with its old streets. It happens to be one of the oldest settlements full of beautifully dishevelled colonial buildings and yet remains one of the most vibrant districts.
Continue with a visit to the Independence square, the location where Ghana was first declared a country free from colonization. Also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Osu Castle (Christiansborg), which was originally built by the Danes.
End the evening to a live band performance at the +233 Bar & Grill.

Day 3
Accra – Kumasi (250km/5hrs)
Depart for the Ashanti Region with a stopover at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) for a guided tour through the range of laboratories and experimental cocoa farms. Here, we will learn about the wonderful stuff made from cocoa.
Visit the Centre’s shop with locally manufactured cocoa and cashew products on sale.
On arrival, we visit the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti Kingdom. Its large compound
holds statues of past Kings and Queens of the Ashanti Kingdom. End the day at the Kumasi Cultural Centre, which offers a good account of the rich Ghanaian culture, provides evidence of the Ashanti Kingdom's eminent past. It houses the Prempeh II Jubilee museum, which provides a fascinating collection of Asante’s history.

Day 4
Kumasi
Start the day with a brief stopover at the Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa.
Visit the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall, situated at the Manhyia Palace.
In the afternoon, visit the Asante Traditional Buildings, one of the World Heritage Sites in Ghana, comprising of 13 traditionally built buildings from the time of the Ashanti Empire in the area. The buildings were described as the last remains of the history and culture of the Asante people.
In the afternoon, we continue to the craft villages of Ntonso, famous for adinkra design, Ahwiaa for carving and Adanwomase (Kente) to interact with locals and to learn traditional skills like kente weaving. Also meet the Kente Queen mother.

Day 5
Kumasi – Cape Coast (215km/4h30m)
Set off for the Central Region the former seat of government of the Gold Coast and known for its Slave
forts and castles. Stopover at the Ancestral River Park in Assin Manso, where people from the northern
parts of Africa and Ghana, were taken for a last bath in the "Donko Nsuo" slave river, before being sent off
to the dungeons of the coastal slave castles for shipment to the "New World".
After lunch we visit the Cape Coast Castle (Fort Carlsborg), which was under Swedish administration.
Experience a walk through the Door of No Return. Marking the beginning of a perilous journey of our
ancestors. Only this time we will also experience a return through the same doors.

Day 6
Elmina – Kakum (40km)
Morning visit to the Kakum National Park, which comprises of undisturbed virgin rainforest to experience a walking tour on the longest and highest canopy walkway in West Africa.
After lunch, experience a guided tour of the Elmina Castle, declared as a UNESCO World heritage site, a well preserved castle with an incredible history and infamous for its pivotal role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Continue with a walking tour through the Elmina township to view some houses built in colonial style,
including a visit to the Asafo Shrines, where warriors prepared mentally and spiritually before going to
war. End the day with a drum & dance session at the beach front resort.

Day 7
Accra
Start the day with a workshop to learn the techniques of making batik, where one gets to keep the finished artwork.
Return to Accra for last minute shopping.
Places to visit can include the Makola Market, Gracia Fabric, Global Mamas or shops on Osu’s Oxford Street.
Also visit the Arts Centre for National Culture (Ghana’s biggest craft market). There is a great chance of discovering old antiques by strolling into the deep interior of the crafts market.
End the day with a farewell dinner at the beachfront resort.

Terms of payment
A deposit of 25% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking. The balance is due no later
than 14 days prior to departure. If the reservation is made less than 14 days before departure, the
entire cost of the tour must be paid at the time of the reservation.

surcharge)
