SUMMARY:2023 Millet Harvest Festival (Ngmayem)
DESCRIPTION:The Krobo people celebrate the Millet Festival every year during the harvest season. It is an exquisite feast full of color and jewels. Beginning as a harvest festival\, the millet festival is held in Krobo Odumase in the Krobo district in eastern Ghana. A centuries-old mainstay of the diet of the farming communities was millet (ngma). Farmers would unwind and mingle after the crops were harvested\, local kings would get together to talk politics\, and priests would sprinkle millet on the populace as a sign of prosperity.\nThe theme for this year's festival is "Development In Unity. Reviving Patriotism Through Unification".
